Byron Center

As a young boy Steve Ratliff started working for Hartford & Ratliff, his family's hot water and heating company. Following his graduation in 1969, he enlisted in the NAVY and served two tours in Vietnam. Upon his return, he continued working full time with his family business. In 1975 Steve came to Grand Rapids by way of Farmington Hills to open the western Michigan branch of Hartford & Ratliff. With 20 years of experience in the heating and hot water industry, Steve saw an opportunity to transition to the pool industry and started a small distribution company. It was not long before he was scouted and hired by Cinderella Inc. as an independent sales representative. He continued to work with Cinderella Inc. for 15 years. Steve joined the Quality sales team in 2008 and could not be happier to be part of such a great company.

Steve enjoys many hobbies while not in the office or on the sales trail. He enjoys attending the theatre, woodworking, and antiquing. During the summer months, this Macatawa Bay Yacht Club past Commodore he can be found on the open water sailing with his wife, Kathryn and three children. He has also been very active with the Jaycees--in Walker as a past president, and in Grand Rapids as a past state director.

Steve is a past president of the Michigan Swimming Pool Association, and currently holds his Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certificate, as well as his mechanical contractor’s license, and his boilers installation license. He was awarded the most outstanding sales representative award in 2013, and looks forward to continuing to grow in the Quality family by serving the pool dealers, service companies, and builders with education, complete inventory, and outstanding service.
